Hakha-Matupi-Paletwa road to be completed in 2015-2016




The 300 mile stretch of the Hakha-Matupi-Paletwa town connecting main road will be completed within 2015-2016. It is being constructed by the Union government.  “About 28 miles of the Matupi to Paletwa main road has been completed for use by bikers and cars,” an Administrator of Phanai village told Khonumthung News.

At the same time, U Myo Aung, Assistant Director of Chin state Ministry of Construction department also said that the Hakha to Matupi main road will be widened from 28 to 40 feet and 75 percents of the road construction budget will be spent for the  main road.

“You could request for beneficial work for your villages during this construction project. I will submit your needs to the state government too. This is opportune time for consultation for your villages and I’ll do my best,” he added.
Meanwhile, local people also feel that good roads can lead the development of Chin state the poorest state in Myanmar, a local of Phanai told Khonumthung News.
