Upper Chindwin Youth Network will stage a demonstration for 24-hour supply of electricity in Kalaymyo, Sagaing region on 27 September. The agitation will be through a peaceful march. Official permit has been taken from Kalaymyo police station on September 15. In the application form, the Youth Network demanded that the main power line in Gangaw township, Makui region has to be connected with Kalaymyo power line for 24 hours of electricity.

The demonstration will start at 4 pm on 27 September from Kalaymyo Sachia Road and wend its way along Pinlong Road–Sanpiah Road–Bochauh Road-Weezayata Road and end in front of the Electric Department office.

Currently, the power supply is from 500 KV and 300 KV transformers, while Zyichuang hydro-electricity also supplies power to Kalaymyo for three hours in a day or 8 days in a month.
