40 bags of rice donated to CNA by elders

Around 40 bags of rice were donated on 3 January 2013 for the first time to members of the Chin National Army (CNA) by a traders association of Hakha, the capital of Chin state, Burma.

40 bags of rice, cooking oil, salt and blankets were donated to a CNA camp on the Indo- Burma border by Pu Thang Lian, Town elder ( Rual U) of Hakha and Pu Thla Bik, Rual U group of Than Tlang Towns.

Similarly, a huge quantity of blankets was donated to CNA’s members by the Chin Christian Association of Than Tlang on December last year.

“I thank the group of elders for the donation. The CNA members are from the Chin community, which is why the elder’s group are supporting us,” said Colonel Solomon, Secretary of Military affairs committee of the Chin National Front.

It is learnt that funds and clothes are being given to Chin National Army’s members by the Chin people settled abroad.

“The Chin National Front is being supported by the Chin people after peace talks with the central government began, because the Chin people want peace in the country,” said a local.
